In memory of the centenary anniversary of genocide of the Armenians
from Turkey on August 16, 2013 the Armenia post introduced into circulation a
set of 2 postage values on which are represented the friends and defenders of
the Armenian people the English diplomat and historian viscount James Bryce
(1838-1922) and the German public figure, humanist, doctor of theology Johannes
Lepsius (1858-1926). The issue is printed in 2
mini sheets of 10 sets with decorating margins
James Bryce - English statesman, jurist, historian. He
repeatedly acted in the British parliament in protection of Armenians. He expose
a chauvinistic anti-Armenian policy of Turkey. In 1916 under edition of J.
Bryce in London was published the collection of documents "Position of
Armenians in the Ottoman Empire in (1915-16) "Blue book".
Johannes Lepsius - founder of the organization for the help
to Christians in the east. By his activity he tried to pay attention of world
community to destruction of the Armenian population in the Ottoman Empire,
since the period of riots of Armenians in Turkey in 1894-96. He was author of
the book "Bericht über die Lage des armenischen Volkes in der Türkei"
in whom condemned genocide of Armenians.
