This year it’s the 80 anniversary of the Estonian lighthouse
Kiipsaare located in in the northwestern corner of Harilaid Peninsula of the
Estonian island of Saaremaa The enterprise “Eesti Post” celebrates this event by
a postage issue. On January 31, 2012 throughout the series “Estonia Lighthouses”
is introduced into circulation a postage stamp with image of the Kiipsaare lighthouse
and its geographical coordinates indication. The issue is printed in
mini sheet of 10 values with decorating margins.

The lighthouse Kiipsaare constructed in 1933 represents the
ferroconcrete tower, painted alternately in black and gray colors, with a black
roof over a lamp. The lighthouse height is 27 meters, visibility of 12 miles. Its main task - prevention
of the seamen of possible danger and the help in orientation.
