Scouting was born in Estonia in 1912, when in the boys'
school in Pärnu was opened the first Scout Club. The founder of the Boy Scouts
of Estonia is Anton Õunapuu. After entry in the USSR in 1940 the scouts were
banned in Estonia. But in the late 80 years the scout movement was restored.
Now the Estonian Association of young scouts has about 1,500 members and is one
of the largest youth organizations in Estonia.
