On March 22th. the Republic of Kazakhstan was met the Nauryz meyramy - New Year on ancient east calendar. A celebration is, as a rule, accompanied by mass games and entertainments. Nauryz is a holiday of spring and nature updating. It is one of the most ancient holidays on Earth which is noted more than 5 thousand years.
An east legend says that before leaving from Earth the Buddha invited all representatives of fauna to celebration of the first New Year. The Buddha promised to animals and birds to present by the whole year which will be called as their name. On the invitation of the Buddha 12 characters responded, this is a rat, a bull, a tiger, a rabbit, a dragon, a snake, a horse, a sheep, a monkey, a rooster, a dog. The last on a meeting with the Buddha was arrived a pig.

On April 25, 2013 the state enterprise of post service "Kazpochta" issued a postage block of 12 values on subject "Oriental Lunar Calendar". On stamps in block are presented all 12 characters of the Chinese calendar from whom other colour allocated the Snake as the owner of right of the current year.
It is supposed that the Kazakhstan post planned the annual edition of New Year's postage issue the next 12 years, consistently marking out each of twelve symbolical animals who have come by the invitation of the Buddha.
