05.15.2013 Kyrgyzstan. The ram "Golden Fleece"

On May 18, 2013 the state enterprise "Kyrgyzmarkasy" throughout the subject "Fauna of Kyrgyzstan" issues into post circulation a series of 4 values “Pamir argali". The largest representative of wild rams, in honour of the great Italian traveller, the first from Europeans described an animal for the science, called in common people mountains ram Marco Polo.

The issue is printed in perforated and imperforated version in 4 mini sheets of 6 values with decorating margins.
Paper: chalky. Printing: offset.
Perforation: frame 14:14¼;
Size of stamp: 40 x 28 mm
Size of sheetlet: 90 x 97 mm.
Edition of perforated stamps - 7500 copies, edition of imperforated stamps - 1500 copies.
Printed by Company "Publishing house "Belarusian House Printing".

The issue is also submitted in perforated and imperforated postage block of 4 values.

The “Pamir argali" (Ovis ammon polli) is a well-known for the huge horns which length can reach 190 cm. The medieval traveller Marco Polo mentioned that locals build of these horns a fence and shelters for cattle. The Pamir argali lives in the top mountain belt at the height of 3800 - 5800 meters above sea level. Now the ram meets only in east Kyrgyzstan, near the Chinese border, near Pobeda Peak and Khan-Tengri.
