To the 50 anniversary of flight of Valentina Tereshkova in
space the Kyrgyzstan post introduces into circulation a postage stamp with image
of the first-ever female astronaut which flight by the ship Vostok-6 took place
on June 16, 1963. The postal presentation and the memorable First Day cancellation
will take place on April 13, 2013.

Valentina Tereshkova became the sixth Soviet astronaut. At
the same time with her in an orbit there was an Vostok -5 spaceship piloted by
Valery Bykovsky. The space pilot V. Tereshkova spent nearly three days in space
and made 48 turns round Earth. After Tereshkova the second woman departed to space
only trough 19 years. Svetlana Savitskaya became her.
