The teams, boats and wheel vehicles were the earliest types of
post transport in Latvia. The postage carriages invented in Hungary in the XV
century, became predecessors of modern post motor transport. Now in the
Republic of Latvia main types of transport for delivery of mail are buses and
cars, sea and river crafts, railway trains, aircraft and city bicycles.
