On August 15, 2013 the Russian post introduces into circulation
a postage value devoted to the 150 anniversary of the Kolomna plant of
transport mechanical engineering. On stamp is represented the passenger
locomotive with power supply of cars of the train TEP70BS against the engine
No. 5000, type 86.
The issue is printed in mini sheet of 9 values. Design: A
Povarikhin. Size of stamps: 37 x 37 mm. Edition: 315 000 copies (35 000
sheetlets).
The Kolomna plant is founded in 1863 by military engineer
A.E.Struve. Bridge designs for the railroads became the first production of the
enterprise. Prior to the beginning of the Great Patriotic War at plant engines,
locomotives, electric locomotives, diesels, the equipment for the subway, the
turbine were issued. In the years of war the plant worked for needs of the front:
were repaired tanks, and built armoured trains, was made ammunition. Since 1956
the Kolomna plant continues to let out serially locomotives, and also diesels
for vessels, submarines and power plants.
