On May 24, 2013 the Russian post introduced into circulation
a postage block devoted to the 1150 anniversary of mission of Konstantin (Cyril)
and Methodius in the Slavic countries. On postage block is submitted an image of the Sacred
equal to the apostles Cyril and Methodius with an alphabet and Glagolitic
alphabet roll in an environment of believers.

In 862 the Slavic princes Rostislav, Svyatopolk and Kotsel
addressed to the Byzantine emperor Mikhail III with a request to send
missionaries who could preach Christian religion in Slavic language. At the
head of mission were put the brothers Cyril (Konstantin) and Methodius.
Together with pupils they finished the translations into Slavic language the
Gospel, the Apostle, Psalmbooks and other prayer books. The language of Cyril
and Methodius transfers was reflected dialect of solunsky Slavs and reached us
in lists of the X-XI centuries, became the first literary language of all Slavs
which it is accepted to call old Slavic or Church Slavonic.
