On May 18, 2013 the Russian post introduces into circulation
a postage block devoted to the 500 anniversary of the Aleksander Settlement.
In block is presented the ensemble of the Aleksander Kremlin of the XVI
century.

The Aleksander Settlement is the Old Russian fortress and
the residence of the Moscow princes. It was settled down on the territory of
the present city Aleksandrov (Vladimir region). According to the order of grand
duke Moscow Vasily III the best Russians and the Italian masters in the
Aleksandrovsky settlement erected the magnificent palace. Since December 11,
1513 the settlement became a place of regular stay of an imperial yard. Ivan
the Terrible turned the Aleksandrovskay settlement into the actual capital of
the state round which finished country association. The settlement turned into
the largest cultural centre of the Russian state. Here settled down the
embassies of many European states and were signed the major political and trade
contracts.
