The Lvov national museum of A.Sheptitsky is an impressive collection of subjects of the fine arts. Includes the collection of Ukrainian icons XIV—XVIII centuries, a collection of manuscripts XI—XVI centuries, collections of engravings XVII—XVIII centuries, samples of painting and sculpture XVIII—XIX centuries the Museum has been found in February, 1905 by Greco-catholic metropolitan Andrey Sheptitsky.

To a Centenary of the Lvov museum in 2005 the Ukrainian post issued a set of 2 values on which one of the most interesting exhibits of a museum are reproduced: an icon of Archangel Michael of XIV century and a picture of 1872 "The Dalmatin woman" of Teofil Kopistinsky.

The stamps are printed in mini sheet of 4 sets and have arrived in the post circulation on December, 13th 2005. Some months has passed in the middle of 2006 the enterprise "Marka Ukrayiny" (Stamp of Ukraine) has issued a colourful album for collectors with a set of the Ukrainian stamps of 2005 with the art illustrations and descriptions of post issues in 1 thousand copies. In the book was sewed the special sheet printed on a special condensed glutinous paper, with images of stamps in various colour combinations, and also colour reproduction of the set with the another perforation.

These stamps are high-grade signs on post payment and concern to the independent post issue. However till now any serious catalogue in any way does not mention them and does not inform neither as on separate issue, nor as about a version of a usual series. In this connection the given post issue risks to appear out of sight of the majority of collectors. In electronic shop and catalogue UkraFil the stamps are represented in section Ukraine 2005 at numbers: UA00462 - set of 2 values, UA00462-1 - typographical proof sheet.
