On Saturday, August 24, 2013, Ukraine celebrated the 22nd
anniversary of independence declaration - formation of the modern Ukrainian
state and society. For this sign ideological and political holiday the
enterprise of post service "Ukrposhta" prepared an unusual issue – a postage
value with image of the Evdokim Voloshinov picture “Pumpkin". The pumpkin in Ukraine calls garbuz. There is a long
national tradition according to which in the house of the bride to matchmakers
or the potential groom "present garbuz" i.e. refuse courtship. With
which "the transparent hint" is covered in the similar issue
published by the Independence Day the "Ukrposhta's" guide doesn't
report. The philatelists need to guess only. And these assumptions are not the
most iridescent.
The issue is printed in mini sheet of 12 values with decorating margins. Artist of cancels- Аlexander Stalmokas Multicolored; printing – offset Perforation edge - 14:14 1/4. Size of stamp - 40 х 28 mm. Edition - 190 000 copies. Printed on SE “Integrated Printing Plant “Ukraina” for production of
securities”.
