Yes it certainly is important and thank you for opening the topic.
It is very difficult to find reliable information about Transnistrian stamps. I am the publisher of the Transnistrian stamps catalog site at http://www.pmrstamps.org and it has taken me many years to gathering all this information.
I travelled to Moldova and PMR in 2006 but I was not permitted to speak to any official of the postal services. All the information I have, I got by talking to local collectors and dealers.
In PMR, all the stamps are produced by the state printing company in Bendery. I believe that all the stamps are designed and printed under the strict supervision of the Director, Mr Eugene Kotenko. I am told that ths man is very private and secretive and will not communicate with any collectors or dealers. I have not been able to find a postal address or an email address for Mr Kotenko anywhere, but I do see his photos on some PMR information sites.
Does anyone know this man? Does anyone know anything about the state printing company?
I wonder whay all the information is so hard to find. The Transnistria/PMR government does not make it easy for us poor collectors
